| no partners | | | Round trip hike along Arizona trail #36 from Coconino Rim Road to Moqui Station. Nice hike with an elevation drop of 600 feet over 8 miles, you hardly notice it. The trail is about 50% single track and the rest two track. Watch the Arizona Trail markers closely I missed one on the way to Moqui station staying on a two track when the trail split to a single track (It was marked i just had my head stuck somewhere and I didn't see the sign). I corrected that on the return route. The other time was on the way back just before Red Horse and Willow Tanks Road I stayed on the two track instead of veering right on the trail (The sad part was on the way in I made a note of this to be sure on the way back I take the correct route, I don't believe the trail is marked here). Neither mistake cost me a lot of time so it is water under the bridge. These last few hikes from Bonita Tank near cedar ranch to Coconino Rim Road I have hit a lot of wet weather. I guess that can be expected during the monsoons. |
