| no partners | | | Trail starting in Tusayan to South Rim and then returning to Tusayaz and hiking south into Coconino Wash before returning to start point. Gradual 600 foot climb over 8 miles to the South Rim and the Kaibab Trail. Kind of strange doing this hike because I saw more people along the trail than I have along almost all of the rest of the Arizona Trail. Still a great hike through Ponderosa Pine forests. On the return to Tusayan I still had some time and energy left so I hikes south along the Arizona Trail up Coconino Wash til I decided I had enough for the day and returned to Tusayan. |
