| no partners | | | Started this hike at Snow Bowl Road and headed south on the Arizona Trail to Schultz Tank. Took a side trek on the Arizona Trail #33 to Schultz Creek Trail to finish up a section I didn't do before. Once back to Snow Bowl Road I headed north toward Snow Bowl to Aspen Corner where I turned around. From Snow Bowl Road to Schultz Tank the trail has a gradual climb of 500 feet in 7 miles. The trail is in good condition and parallels the Kachina Trail just 1400 feet lower. The trail to Aspen Corner is 5.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1000 feet. The scenery was great and I didn't really think about the elevation gain until one point on the trail where you are looking down on the Snow Bowl Road. This was a long days hike but was never really tired of the scenery. Trail was in good condition and is also used as a mountain bike trail. |
