| no partners | | | This is a round Trip hike from Forest Service Road 418 to Lew Tank. Today was suppose to be a hike from Aspen Corner near the Snow Bowl to FSR418 northeast of San Francisco Peaks but because of the weather and the threat of rain I did it in two sections. From Aspen Corner to Lew lake and then from FSR 418 to Lew Tank, Turns out it never rained though, Oh Well. Beautiful hike through Pine and aspen forests. The trail is 4.7 miles long with an elevation gain of about 700 feet on a well maintained and what looks like a heavily used trail. Took a side trip to See Bismark Lake which was nothing more than a fairly large sink that hold water in wet seasons. there was a scant amount when I was there. This is a good hike if you are in the area and want a nice trail to spend the morning or the afternoon, Sunst would be ideal because of the west facing peaks. |
