Started hiking up the Humphrey's Summit Trail about 10:30 this morning. The trail from bottom to top was as busy as I have ever seen it. Weather was great and the journey up was a pleasant one. Off in the distance were plumes of smoke coming off of Mt. Kendrick from the Boundary Fire. The Rangers told me they hope to have it out by mid-July.

Up top there were tons of people and a good handful of bugs. This made for a short visit and then on to the Weatherford Trail. Along the way I would encounter several snow drifts still in place that made for difficult travel. I saw a couple other people coming up from that way but that was mostly it until the Kachina. If you don't care to deal with the snow I would wait another week or two and all should be clear. It wasn't horrible but it slowed my roll.

The Kachina is absolutely beautiful right now. Ferns everywhere as well as green aspens and pines line the trail. It is awesome! Once back to the car the smoke from Kendrick was really heavy. I didn't notice it much on my hike.

It's been a while since I have made it up to Flag and this area. I forgot just how nice it is!
