This hike is always enjoyable. You get Aspens, Meadows, Pines, long switchbacks above the treeline, lighter crowds than the main route up and THE BEST summit views in the state.

I absolutely love the aspen switchbacks on the way to the Waterline Trail. Couldn't have been much better weather for a hike and summit. Temps hovered in the high 60's and hit 59 at the peak while the Valley was enjoying 107.
Breezes kept the gnats away. Best summit weather I've had.
