| no partners | | Multiple people flaked out for another trip, so I decided to go up on the rim for a couple days with the Lunatic. Found one of the last camp spots in Sitegraves right on the edge of the rim. Wandered up Beaver Canyon, up to the road above, followed that for a while, and then went down into Turkey Creek for the trip back to the rim. Beaver Canyon was cool. There were some fenced off sections and there were nice bear prints in the mud under a fence. The canyon narrowed after that and then opened up a lot under the powerlines. Followed what looked like a very old road along the right side for a while, and then went up to the actual road above. Explored my way down into Turkey Creek and then back to the 300. No fall colors yet and I saw zero animals, was probably because of the temps. Just nice to get out of the blazing heat for a few days. |
