As part of the HAZFest weekend we decided to hike the Sycamore Rim Loop with John and Kyle on Saturday. After enjoying a great fire and good company on Friday night we started somewhat late from Sycamore Falls TH. But the loop isn’t too long so we made our way along the rim and enjoyed some decent views into Sycamore Canyon. After about 4 miles along the main rim the trail moves away and follows one of the canyon arms. This section was actually surprising scenic especially around LO Spring and Dow Spring.
After the springs we climbed Ka Hill the only real elevation of the day. It was just enough AEG to get a workout but not too much as we continued down the other side to Pomeroy Tanks. The tanks is a very cool area but unfortunately storms moved in so we didn’t stick around very long. It started to rain in the last mile so we made quick time back to the TH.
