Colors last weekend prime between Silverton and Durango making annual family train trip awesome. Colors need a week or more at top of Mt. Esther. Apparently, some extensive forest thinning going on as there are 6 foot tall piles of cut down trees every 15 or twenty feet in every direction or a colony of Bigfoot? Feet have moved in and started a colony at the top of Mt Esther.
Plan on trying Dome Rock in between drop off and pick up of kindergartner when the weather improves.
