We have been wanting to do this loop for awhile and with the recent rain and snow it seemed like a good time. We were not disappointed with water in all the creeks and some of the side drainages. Starting from Sabino parking lot headed up Telephone Line trail to the Sabino Canyon Trail #23. The trail is above the canyon but we could see the large pools all the way as it makes it’s way into upper Sabino. Once at Sabino east and west fork it crosses the creek with plenty of water here and then up the AZT over to the Bear Canyon Trail turnoff. At the turnoff we could see into upper Sycamore which is usually dry but today had plenty of water. If we had more time would have been fun to explore Sycamore and double back to Bear Canyon Trail. But we kept going and dropped into Bear Canyon.

Bear Canyon was another water paradise with heavy flow and large pools everywhere. We stopped at one of the larger pools upstream of 7 Falls and took a nice break. Continuing on to 7 Falls area and the usual crowd had gathered at the pools. With the heavier flow than normal there was plenty to see but that brought in more people. Moving on hiked down lower Bear Canyon and back over to Sabino connection to the parking area. Great loop and timing could not have been better for the water situation!
