Wrong road again, I knew better but forgot. Got very bad so just put pack on and walked. Canyon and old undriven roads. Mine prospects started showing up, short tunnels punched in the rock. Really nice colorful shattered rock in the winding canyon. Found a more modern yet abandoned mining set up. Shaft there but some pretty rock, sparkly iron ore. I was glad to see a few flowers, including poppies, sparse yet more than I thought in this dry warm year so far. Driving out saw my mistake. Had to do some road building and use the lockers on the Jeep. Saw a very large alcove in the distance. That is on the list.
