I needed to escape from some first world problems at home and get some exercise. This was an area on the to do list but I had not been till today. Liked the badland area on the drive in. Liked the road getting up into some nice large unburned trees ( keep fingers crossed). Trail was good, I saw some distinct bear and cat tracks, both pretty large. Fresh gooey Yogi poo on the trail. It was warm but really quite pleasant with the breeze. Didn't like the road walk much. Saw the Clark Peak connector has an official looking sign. Fern forests pretty impressive along here. Didn't go up the fire lookout.
I think with the large maples in the first drainage this might be nice for fall and might be really nice after monsoons crank up.
