Wilson Mountain Trail rises as a trail with one of the greatest elevation changes within the Sedona region. However, for any who have not traveled the trail, that should not deter them as the trail presents few if any technical difficulties, only moderately step ascents and few narrow passages near step cliffs. I compare this to Bear Mountain, a bit trickier, and to the famous or infamous Angel's Landing in Zion, an absolute nightmare of deadly drop-offs. My 2017 hike renewed a trek taken several years earlier, and I surmise (and other have alluded that) Wilson Mountain was impacted by a fire, as evidenced at the upper elevations where fewer trees remained. In a slight caution, which many already know, in the right the season, snow can remain, and while the hike can be accomplished with low top boots or even sneakers, those won't work well (i.e. one would have wet socks) if snow has persisted.

As with essentially all Sedona hikes, the views are outstanding. Wilson Mountain trail rises through a good number of rock layers, so if one is so disposed, reading up on a bit of geology would add to the appreciation, as would taking in a bit of botany to recognize the different plant types at different elevations.
