The hike begins and ends at Midgley Bridge. The route is fairly easy: Take the Wilson Mountain Trail to the First Bench of Wilson Mountain, and from there turn left to go to the top of the mountain. Once on top, at the junction I turned left to go the Sedona Overlook on the south side of the mountain. Then, I went all the way on the trail to the North Canyon Overlook on the north side of the mountain. Then I went back to the trail junction on the mountain, and reversed course back to Midgley Bridge.
The scenery is fantastic all along the hike and at the 2 overlooks on top of the mountain. I like the views from the north overlook better -- you can see Vultee Arch, the canyon below, and Humphreys Peak in the background. |
