Went up to Sedona today to search for ruins in Long Canyon. 55 degrees at 7am and 87 degrees at 2pm! It was beautiful hiking in and hot and sweaty heading out. We did find the ice cream cone ruins and a group of hikers from Sedona just leaving the site. Well preserved walls, some corn cobs, a whole bunch of pictographs, and outstanding views into the valley below. We continued up Long Canyon trail to try to find the ladder, but the spur we decided on was brutal, steep, loose, grown over. I sensed a impeding mutiny and suggested that we turn back for some lunch instead of pushing on. There was much rejoicing :)
