| no partners | | I’ve always wanted to check this route out and I could not have picked a better day!
Road to the TH was slow going, not 4x4 but you better have some good tires and high clearance as there are boulders galore.
The path down is clear and easy to follow but steep and loose with a lot of fresh soil.
Saw one vehicle parked on the Westside of the canyon which belonged to two fisherman who left shortly after my arrival and were the only people I saw around the lake all day.
Walked along the shore to where East Fork and Weimer Canyon feed into the lake, dropped my pack and went for a relaxing swim.
Incredible cloud cover the remainder of the day made for a very enjoyable afternoon and evening.
I could spend some serious time roaming around Chevelon Canyon and Lake and still need to squeeze in time for an overnighter in this high country paradise.
