Mountain peaks in the area were generally at 10000 ft. After finding rooms, we ventured out on our first hike which is the content of the photoset. Electricity for the lodge was collected from the glacier stream (Wildcat Creek) and wired into the lodge. Outhouses were the rule of the day and buckets were used for 'ship showers' common to sailors and Marines. It was a fantastic week of hiking up 3000 ft on one day seeing beautiful lakes and glaciers. One of our hikers from Canmore, AB set up this hiking venue that we will not soon forget. |
