We continue down the creek until we find the cairned area leading to the top of 2881. This is some really rugged, but beautiful areas of the Goldfields that we cross on the way to the top. The route is pretty well cairned on the route we took up. Reaching the ridgeline allows great vistas of Canyon Lake, Saguaro Lake and many vistas of landmarks familiar to us from our hikes in the Goldfields. Dick chose to go down the steep area on the south side of the peak. Oh, we did find the 'log' and signed in to prove we made it to the peak. This is a fun bushwhack with overwhelming views. |
