| no partners | | I saw a post once of a Blackett's Ridge time >5 hrs so I feel comfortable posting my time yesterday to the window. The hike was amazing, even during monsoon season I never saw so much water, it was a total treat to the ears. I took a lady up to the window who was here in Tucson for a hiking vacation, she had made all of her plans through MU and happened to see an old random post of mine. I had never hiked with her so I gave her a time estimate of 7 1/2 to 9 1/2 hours. We took a little longer but there was an amazing reason for that. She made it up like a champ, better than me cause I was really having an off day. Down hill was another story. Because of her history she had some difficulty with her knees and navigating all the rocks was a challenge. This amazing woman, had been heavy all of her life. A few years ago she lost 180lbs and keeps it off hiking, biking and working out. It was such a privilege to lead her in a hike. When we were signing the book on top she wrote she would not have made it without me.That made the long day more than worth it. A side benefit of the long day was we got a bit of a night hike in, thank goodness I had my flashlight. When I turned off airplane mode once back in the parking lot my daughter made it clear Mom was in trouble. She and her boyfriend were out in separate cars looking for me in TH parking lots.
