Window Rock and Window Peak have been on my radar screen for a while, so I decided that this was a good time of year to go do this hike. There is a bighorn sheep closure area in some parts of the Pusch Wilderness from Jan 1 - Apr 30 each year(https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DO ... 561663.pdf): you can still hike to Window Rock, but Window Peaks is off limits during this time. So early December is a good "window" of opportunity to do this hike.

The weather was super for the hike, although it was a bit warm on the way back. There was some patchy fog and some low lying clouds on top, which made for an almost surreal feel. Going up to Window Peak was the highlight of the hike for me -- there was some class 3 climbing near the peak, but I didn't think that it was too bad.

We started and ended the hike from the Ventana Canyon TH. The Ventana Canyon Trail was pretty rocky, and it isn't my favorite trail to hike on. I'm sure that I will do this hike again sometime, but for a hike with somewhat similar distance and elevation gain, I like Rincon Peak better.
