| partners | | Back in Nov-2008 HAZ-Topohiker(Ken) and I first hiked up [ White Canyon ] to the preferred upper canyon areas from the main Southern Park/TH Start. I really enjoyed this amAZing, scenic, remote, wilderness area and wanted to do a return trip(s) but this approach just had too much boulder hopping and was too much work for me to reach the more scenic and remote Upper Canyon areas.
I first became interested in this SW/NE approach, alternate off-trail hike in/out to this uppermost "White Canyon Wilderness" area back in year 2011 when HAZ-Sun_Hiker signed-up for a published group hike led by someone whom I believe was not a HAZ member. Sun_Hiker later posted her GPS Route & Photoset from 2/12/11 which needed some clean-up editing before I felt comfortable attempting the hike on my own but the idea of another hike in option was a  for me!
Six+ years ago, on 2/15/12 I invited HAZ-AZLumberjack(Jack) to join me for an innagural hike to validate this "White Canyon Upper - SW Approach FR319". We had a great day, my newly edited GPS Route was good, and on 2/22/12, I issued a new HAZ- Trail/Hike Guide for others to hopefully also enjoy.
After HAZ-JB & Group's recent Nov'18 loop hike to this area, my interest in a return trip was again "spurred" 
Oregon_Hiker (Larry), RedRoxx44 (Letty), and myself planned this hike today, 12/9/18 in conjunction with Letty being in the area and overnight on Saturday. Another awesome day for a White Canyon Wilderness revisit! Unfortunately, Letty had some unplanned last minute vehicle problems and was not able to join us.. sorry we missed you!
Updated Hike Notes:
.. The drive-in on FR319 to a right turn unsigned, easy to miss FR2260 to the hike recommended Park/TH Start (for the last .4 mls) is now strictly 4-Wheel Drive / High Clearance, narrow, rutted, & rocky (if planning a visit, it is recommended to download and follow these posted GPS Route Driving directions- [ gps route ] )
.. From the TH Start, it took us (Senior Citizens) ~2.5hrs to reach the 1st scenic White Canyon Overview area(s) and I must admit that the long, rocky, drainage wash with some by-pass routes "Out-Of" required (see my gps route WPs), both Out and Back (up hill), was kind-of a slog (gets kind-of old), but still worth it!;
