| no partners | | Limited on time so planned a hike to check out a faint horse trail I saw traces of from a satellite scan I was doing, and added in an accent to Hill 2609. Picked up the trail fairly easy and off we went. Cool and breezy at the start but the temps warmed up quickly. A little rocky and loose in some sections but overall the horse trail was very easy to follow and a much better option than hiking the wash jeep trail. The accent up to Hill 2609 was easier than expected and went fairly quickly considering all off trail. Hiked a little further along the ridgeline till we found a nice spot for lunch. On the decent we opted for another route down which was OK however the accent route was much better and will use it for future hikes. Once we hit FR12 we picked up another horse trail and finished with a loop back to the trailhead. Great hike exploring new to us areas. |
