From the TH the hike was easy and pretty much uneventful. Saw a pair of hikers and one mountain biker along the way. New area once we bailed off FR4, lots of nice sights, plenty of water, and a good use trail to follow. Rock Tank was full and the area near Filaria Spring had plenty of running water. The off-trail to Hill 3464 was easy enough and we saw 2 deer heading up. Had lunch on 3464 in brisk temps, and then headed off to check out the rock wall sections. The decent off the ridge was at a nice grade and with the damp ground it was easy to dig in. Once back on FR4 we jumped back onto the Picketpost Circumference trail in the canyon and continued on, with many creek crossings along the way. Both of us ended up with wet feet as we found it impossible to cross the creek dry but that just added to the fun and adventure |
