| no partners | | | Happy New Year! Snow on the mountain. I was feeling worn out from a few days out of town, but I had to get out there to check it out. A very late start put me on the trail at 2:15pm. As I approached Lost Dutchman Park, I saw the congestion. Cars were lined up in the turn lane waiting to get into the park. Not my style, so I kept going. I turned onto First Water Rd and took the only remaining space at the first trailhead. All this excitement meant more people on the trails than I've ever seen. Not to worry, I had plans to continue upward and onward beyond the Praying Hands. As expected, no one else out that far and so I had the rest of the hike to myself. I made my way to the canyon of waterfalls and then started the climb up the ridge that leads towards the Reverse Flatiron route. I hiked up higher than snow level, took some pics, then headed back down around 4:30pm. Had it been a couple hours earlier, I would have loved to complete the Reverse FI. Snow would have been tricky to navigate. |

| This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee. |
