| no partners | | | Planned and followed my driving route via Google Earth. One thing Google Earth doesn't show you is "how rough are the roads." When I'm on a solo outing like this, I hate getting too remote on primitive roads. Bottomed out a couple times, but I think most likely just the running boards. High risk for flat tire, but no problems with my Cooper's today. I was able to follow the driving route using my Garmin Foretrex, and it got me all the way to a nice cliff edge where I would begin my descent to Spring Creek. Incredible 360 degree views from this high point. I made my descent to the creek, worked my way up stream for about 1/2 mile. Took a lunch break then headed down stream towards what looked like an old abandoned dwelling. There used to be two log structures here. The area is picturesque, on the edge of the tree line, with a large open meadow in front of the dwelling and creek running down below. Would like to know the story of who lived here and when. Swam a bit in the cool water and filtered two bottles of creek water before making my way back up the 700 foot climb. |

| This is my gym. I have to travel down a bumpy road to get there. There are no treadmillls, no machines, and no personal trainers. I walk..I run..I breathe the fresh air. I can go any time I want, as much as I want and there is no membership fee. |
