| no partners | | A quick hike out in the Supes to catch a sunset. I figured the sun would set right along the face of the mountain with the Praying Hands being on the direct line of the sunset. I was sorta close.
The mini parking area west of the Massacre/Crosscut Lot was semi-full when I arrived at 430pm. I saw a few folks on the trail, but I had the place to myself for most of my hike. I set off to hike the little formations east of the "Hands" and looked for the best spot to set up. I am not sure of the names of these formations. Anyone know?
The sunset started out mild, but the clouds away from the horizon really got some nice colors. Nothing spectacular (for Arizona, at least), but an excellent way to watch the day come to an end.
The brittlebrush is blooming very nicely in some areas. I saw a few globe mallow blooms and a few lupines as well. With all this rain, I am wondering what kind of wildflower season we will have this year?
Hiked back in the dark and saw a deer run across the trail in front of me. There's a group of them that live in this area. I usually see them in the early mornings when I hike this area.
Now that we are living in this new Bizarro world and my industry has basically shut down for who knows how long, I might be doing a daily hike out here? Hope everyone stays safe out there. |
