Up on the mountain saw at least 30+ deer in 7-8 groups. Aspen high up were turning but along the road not so much. Grove at CP flat is getting there but not at peak. Red maples can be found but you will have to work for them. Looks like the lower maples are still very green I'd say at least 1-2 more weeks.
Logging equipment on the mountain, slash piles in some areas and the road rough in places from logging trucks. Not too many people about, most of the camp areas I could see were empty.
Took a dirt road off the main highway to a granite boulder playground, just a great wander hike, then to home.
