| no partners | | I heard about this place from @Petrophile and @kenjacobsen and decided to go out and take a look. It's intriguing because it's a significant site, close to town, and hardly appears in the Googleverse. So I'll avoid naming the location.
I made a steep approach and was soon at the lower ruin. Really big (50+ rooms I'd guess) and it completely fills it's mesa top from edge to edge. Pretty overgrown though and not very photogenic. Continuing up the hill there is another major ruin at the top - not quite as many rooms but more impressive to look at.
I decided in advance to make a loop hike out of this by including a couple other high points and ridges but I didn't really expect to find anything else of interest. I was happy though to find remnants of habitation on one of the other bumps and a couple grinding features on the crest of a long ridge. The later ridge walking was nice particularly after some early cholla challenges. |
