| no partners | | I always had a hunch there was activity of the ancients along and or above the East Verde River area with many trips turning up nothing but this little trek and my hike from a few weeks ago finally confirmed evidence of those who walked before us.
There are so many great peninsulas and outcroppings out here along with prominent cliff bands just beckoning to be explored.
Majority of everything interesting in the area has tough approaches gaurded by vast and dense amounts of manzanita, shrub oak and catclaw keeping away unwanted visitors.
Came down into a little draw and noticed a large appealing worked stone and next to it sticking straight out of the ground in the water and mud was this little gem...

Maybe only rained for about fifteen minutes or so but a constant drizzle all day left my dog and I soaked to the bone and a bit chilly upon finishing our hike. |
