After a long hiking hiatus I finally made it out again. Decided to hike up the Pyramid Trail to break in my new hiking boots. Saw a decent size garter snake just before the start of the climb portion of the trail. He ducked under a bush. I saw him, but when I moved in closer he slipped away before I could snap his picture. The creosote were covered with yellow flowers and little fuzzy puff balls, and the hedgehog cactus had brilliant purple blooms all along the trail. The hike started out sunny, but the little fluffy clouds shaded the hill while I was climbing which was nice. The clouds moved away again and left me in the sun once I got down from the hill. Perfect timing.
