| no partners | | Decided to come back and explore the Rattlesnake Quiet Area some more. This go around was even better than the last!
The terrain here is just as pleasant as can be. Walking through the woods is a cakewalk. Rattlesnake Canyon is quite the gorge to drop into and climb out but the canyon bottom is smooth sailing with it being relatively flat in the bottom with game trails usually on both sides of the creek. The forest in these parts is healthy and beautiful and wildlife is everywhere! I think we counted 17 elk and 8 deer. Most of these elk encounters were up close and personal! Wish we got better pictures but we did end up with solid video.
There was still some good water down in Rattlesnake Canyon but I have a feeling it will start to disappear fast. If you enjoy walking through the woods and seeing lots of deer and elk I’d definitely recommend coming here. Plus you’ll have it all to yourself! |
