I did this hike with Stiller & Liza. Stiller logged the details so I won't repeat them. I'll just add there were many black flies around so don't forget the repellent. When you leave the Cabin going east to reconnect with the Ballatine Trail look for the cement trough that Stiller mentioned. The trails turns south from there and is very faint at first. Once you make this turn the trail becomes more noticable again.
