| partners | | This sixth day, my fourth day hike, of our seven day Car Camping trip to Camp Grasshopper-Redman Mesa, was a great choice to end our first 2019 Sierra Ancha NW visit.
Even though it's a long out and back day drive-short hike from the PHX area, for a short 3.4 mile off-trail hike, this one is not that difficult to navigate the "out and back" and even if Turkey Creek is mostly dry when visiting, this very scenic red slick rock section of Turkey Creek with it interesting cliffs geology, easy access TH (just off FR609) and remote, less visited area with other interesting off-trail hike explore options would still offer an awesome, relaxing payoff with solitude!
I spent some extra time on my posted picture set detailing in hike sequence some of the awesome scenery with pic captions, geocoding, and tag notes to hopefully show some of the reasons why this hike is a winner - [ photoset ] My posted and downloadable Gps Hiking Route with key waypoints is also available.
This new Turkey Creek area find (for us) really deserves it's own, new published HAZ- "Hiking Guide" and maybe at a later date I will be able to complete this for others interested who may desire more HAZ- Hike Guide stats and narative detail.
