| no partners | | With the high morning temps, overcast and drops on the windshield I expected a hot and humid hike, but surprisingly enough the humidity was pretty low. So along with a breeze and the overcast providing shade from the sun it turned out to be a pleasant hike.
Only one wildlife encounter today... a nighthawk flying almost in my face as it tried to direct my attention away from it's nest. Although I'd encountered nighthawks doing the same thing three times in the last few weeks, I'd never been able to locate their nests. So this time I was actually surprised to find two chicks... I took one very quick zoomed photo then followed the nighthawk far enough so it would believe it was successful in drawing the predator away from its chicks.
Again I would hit a number of hilltops for at least some elevation gain. |
