Just before reaching the picnic area we saw a young horse with a distinct limp from a rear leg. As I get to get closer for a better look we met a photographer who had seen the same thing. In fact she had just filmed it and already sent the video to the Wild Horse group so they can follow up on it.
No more drama on this side so we crossed Bush and wandered in Bulldog for a while, searching for something of interest... like a rattler, deer, or something live anyway.
First up was a young turkey vulture spreading it's wings in the sun. Unfortunately the photo of the best full wing-spread was slightly out-of-focus but I was able to catch it just before it closed them. Ok, cool, but I've seen and filmed more impressive wings-pread displays before so I'm hoping for more.
And shortly before the end I got my wish... a kingsnake. It stayed still for a photo but it must have been video-shy because the moment I hit Record it slid under a small bush and within moments it was down a hole. Oh well, better than nothing. |
