Was originally going to do the usual Pyramid, but when I got out of the car and grabbed my pack, I realized I had forgotten to fill it with water. Ughhhh. I could have driven the 3-4 miles home to get water, or just head over to Telegraph, which is between my house and Pyramid, fill up with the water at the trailhead, and start from there instead. Only a few cars in the parking lot when I got there.

No breeze on the way up. Saw one tiny snake just before reaching the road. There were a few rangers working on the trail at the top of Kiwanis. Headed west on National, over to just before the junction with Ranger, where I turned around. Good breeze all along National. Got a few high clouds blocking the sunlight on my way back down Telegraph, very much appreciated. I’ve always disliked the descent down Telegraph—never good footing, too eroded, and difficult to settle into a consistent stride.
