The Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve had the opening ceremonies this week for Granite Mountain and Fraesfield Trailheads. Buildings have been added to the previous parking lots only. Both these TH have added to their display boards a short and long option for both hikers and mountain bikers. As I volunteer as a TH Host at both, I wanted to hike one of the suggested trails at Fraesfield so I could give out better information. This hike includes Whisky Bottle-Turpentine-Black Hills Trail. We missed a turn and went out and back a half mile on Dixileta Trail. Not much elevation change but not much traffic either. Beautiful 360* views from TH.
