I originally located this great vehicle single or group campsite on a previous May'13 week of camping-hike exploring at the upper end of FR235, up from the Billy Lawrence TH. I did an edit soon after returning to add a HAZ Hike Guide for this new vehicle camping location thinking I would be back here soon to camp. Other HAZ members did soon camp here and now six and one-half years later I finally did too :)

HAZ-Oregon_Hiker (Larry) and I had big plans for this 7-8 day trip to explore a number of areas between this FR235, FR410 (The Reynolds Creek TH), and FR487 (Upper Workman Creek Rd). I decided to arrive a day earlier on Wed-10/23 to take my time putting-up time consuming "Camp Grasshopper" so I would have some free time for a nice breakfast and other needed camp duties prior-to Larry's arrival, late morning on Thurs-10/24. Arriving a day early also allowed me to be ready for the first planned short hike exploration with Larry after his arrival.

This trip HAZ-friendofThundergod (Lee), Blanco, and friend (Katie) with her two pups had plans to join us for the weekend period with Larry, Lee, and Katie planning to do a serious hike (Deathmarch-Bushwhack) in on the Moody Point Trail #140 to an area (Uppermost Moody Point) that had been on our radar for over two years. Since I had plans to remain in camp most of this entire Sat-10/26 after a short hike in from the Billy Lawrence TH for a short distance on the Lucky Strike Tr 144, I had previously planned to prepare a hardy, hot, home cooked Grasshopper meal for all since their day hike, leaving camp before dawn at 5:30am and not arriving back until sunset at 5:30pm, I knew they would appreciate it [ photo ] . We also had a fresh tossed salad with dressing, Italian bread, and chocolate chip-nut-coconut cookies for dessert! :D

The 8 day temps for late October was not that cold/windy at night-early morning except for our last night and departure day Wed-10/30 which was wicked brutal (see last two pic captions on my photoset).

Overall I can confirm this is an awesome vehicle campsite 👍 with another rewarding visit to our Sierra Ancha Wild.
