This was a HAZ-MountainMatt find that sparked Oregon_Hiker and my interest for a hopeful visit. From Matt's previous HAZ posting, another ancient full circle, walled, hilltop ruin site with awesome near and distant views and numerous artifacts to view :)

It was a nasty and rough secondary road forty-five minutes for a 1.4ml 4WD in from the primary road. We decided to park at an available saddle area (for vehicle turn around) .5ml from road end, prior-to crossing a wide, perennial Hidden Creek. This was my first planned flowing creek crossing in a long time where there was no near opportunity to cross the creek by just hiking over some rocks above water. Fortunately our alternate plans to cross the creek ending with dry socks and dry boots to change back into went well, but I am not a fan of the logistics and extra time required to successfully do so. This particular hike out and back was worth my extra planning effort!

As Larry and I were enjoying this ancient site views and construction, I mentioned that I could not find for viewing any of the previous, various site artifacts that our MountainMatt had posted in his original photoset :-k Larry pulled his smartphone and having a cell signal, he sent a text to Matt asking where within the site were all the artifacts located?? Matt soon replied back stating that he had viewed all the artifacts along the banks of "Hidden Creek".. guess we did not ask enough questions prior-to our visit :) It was still a great day out and a very enjoyable visit to a lesser known ancient ruin site.. Thank you MountainMatt!
