| no partners | | End of the year quickie to see one of our favorite active Owl nests at the Sonoran Preserve North. Cathy wanted something flat and simple anyway to start off her very FIRST DAY OF RETIREMENT!!! Thirty years @ J.W.Marriott. The location was given to us earlier in the year by @RowdyandMe. They had a large clutch this past season and we thought they might possibly be incubating eggs by now. Not yet...empty nest.  Here is what the nest looked like last spring [ photo ] .
After seeing @tibber 's pancake photo yesterday we planned on getting some after the hike. It was so cold and windy this morning we ate first and then hiked...bass ackwards. Even a hike with no AEG mad us feel sluggish. Eating burritos and flapjacks prior to walking is the same as putting on ankle weights we learned!
