| partners | | What a great way to wrap-up 2019. Preston and I got on the trail late-morning and lost the crowds pretty quickly. Only saw a couple people on the steep climbs and enjoyed a later lunch before the final push into Geronimo Meadow. The snow, running water, and mature oak and juniper trees were idyllic there. We immediately started making plans for a hammock backpacking return trip in the future. We explored the meadow a while before filtering water for a late return. It was definitely cooling-off by late afternoon and we had to layer-up again for the descent. Beautiful sunset and city light views as we dropped back down to civilization. Wrapped things up with pizza and libations and, for me, a pleasant drive back to the Valley. |
