Drove out towards Canyon Lake with the intention of stopping at one of the many turnouts along the way and going for a walk in the desert. Many others had the same idea as most of the turnouts were already taken. I settled for one east of the highway a few miles from Canyon Lake.

I didn't see many wildflowers, or any poppies, but I had a lovely walk and was able to stress the knee on some terrain that I've thus far avoided. Going uphill is not a problem but I still have some confidence issues going downhill. That will come too, eventually. Slow and easy for now. Very slow.

Gorgeous day out. I started mid-afternoon. A tiny bit of breeze with a warm sun (luxurious, not hot) under beautiful skies.
