| no partners | | Back in April, before it was 108 degrees, I rode this loop. It wouldn't have been much fun before the sheltering-in-place orders occurred, because the Needles Highway is narrow, with very rough edges, and heavily trafficked between Needles and Laughlin.
So, I rode north from Needles, passing into Nevada after about 12 miles. A couple miles later I crossed the Avi bridge into Arizona. Immediately I turned right onto a paved road that heads south. I wanted to avoid riding on 95. Riding south and then east on this, I eventually hooked up with some gravel farm roads, heading south.
I stopped to admire the amazing skill of a crop duster pilot, hoping he was spreading fertilizer, and not pesticide.
It ended up being a lot easier ride than I had thought. I was riding a touring bike with panniers, carrying a little weight in them. A very enjoyable day. |
