| no partners | | I've always kind of enjoyed this hike, despite lack of views. The forest up top is pretty nice. Today when I had almost reached the top I ran into a couple of guys with 5 very friendly hound dogs. The dogs were getting a run and some training. After chatting with them for a while, they mentioned a pond on top of the mountain, which I never knew existed. They explained how to find it, but on my first attempt I took the wrong road. Then I did find the correct road on my way back from the towers. They had seen some fresh bear tracks in the dirt road, but I never did see those because the dogs (and probably myself) walked on the tracks.
I would have liked to see that pond a year ago, after the very snowy winter we had. Maybe another year...
A few flowers, and once again I didn't know them all, but worked on finding the names when I got home. |
