| no partners | | This was day #2 of my 2 day car camping/hiking trip near the Cabin Loop area of the Mogollon Rim. From my campsite, I drove down to where the Barbershop Trail crosses FR139 and parked there.
I wanted to check out Buck Springs Cabin, so I headed east on the Barbership Trail and took it all the way to the cabin. The cabin is about 400-500' east of where the Barbership Trail crosses FR 137.
There were lots of ups and downs on the Barbership Trail -- the trail goes down and back up several canyons and draws. The trail was generally in great shape and I really enjoyed the hike.
There were actually 2 cabins -- both were about the same size, but one looked much larger because it had a front porch on it.
Once I got back to my vehicle, I continued on the Barbershop Trail for a short distance to the Barbershop-Houston Brothers junction, and then went back to where I parked.
After the hike I was going to Flagstaff, so instead of driving out on the Rim Road, I took FR139 north to FR95, and then took FR95 to Highway 87. I would much rather drive on FR139 and FR95 than on Rim Road 300. |
