| partners | | Last month I was up on the Rim and hiked on the Fred Haught Trail, starting from Rim Road 300. I liked the trail and decided to hike it again, this time starting from he Washington Park TH. We took the Devin Trail up to the Rim, with a side trip to the Railroad Tunnel on the way up.
The Devin Trail was nice and easy to hike on up the Railroad Tunnel; from there it was a bit steep and rocky up to the Rim Road. The Railroad Tunnel is worth seeing, although all the graffiti sucks.
Once on the Rim, we followed the Fred Haught Trail to the Fred Haught Cabin, stopping at the General Springs Cabin. From the Fred Haught Cabin, we did an out-and-back to the TH.
There was hardly anybody on the trail on the way up to the Fred Haught Cabin, but we met several hikers and backpackers on the way back.
The weather was great, and this was a very enjoyable hike.
After the hike we stopped at That Brewery in Pine for some rehydration and post-hike grub. |

| | General Springs looked dry, but there was filterable water in places in the creek that runs alongside the Fred Haught Trail. | | _____________________
