Had about an hour thunderstorm in the middle of the hike which was nice, definitely cooled us off in the middle of the hike. As usual with this hike, encountered a few other hikers on the way to See Spring but as we headed up See Canyon didn’t come across anyone else. Trail is decently overgrown as you head up See Canyon, definitely kept an eye out for snakes. A few thorny bushes gave my legs some Arizona pinstriping as we got further up the rim.
Encountered some bear tracks and on our way back down ran into a huge elk. The animals are definitely out right now! Stopped at Christopher Creek as we headed back to the car and hung out in hammocks near the water for a bit as the sun set. Great hike with lots of solitude! |
