| partners | | Quick and easy... follow FR 6363G up until it curves and starts to descend, turn left, and due to a fire in 2015(?) everything was open enough to walk straight to the summit.
I'm guessing the fire was between 2014 & 2016 due to an entry in the summit log in 2016 which stated the summit log survived the fire. The top of the paper was scorched where it touched the metal cap but was otherwise ok.
Just a quick pano video & photos (not that there was much of a view other than trees) and headed back down... a shorter route, following the tracks of possibly a hunter driving an ATV up almost to the summit not long ago.
On the drive back to Lake Mary Road we caught a glimpse of a mule deer just before it bounded away.
With this being #4 of 9 300' prominence peaks in the Hutch Mountain Quadrangle I've got 5 more to go... who knows if/when I'll get them done. |
