The first day I hiked south spotting quite a few deer, three snakes, one hiker, and two mountain bikers. Outstanding views along the way featuring Mount Wrightson, the Rincons, and other southern Arizona ranges.
I planned to stay near Kentucky Camp after a 19 mile day. After hanging out there for a couple hours I got bored so I loaded up on water and hiked another five miles before finding a camp site for the night. Invasion of the moths ensued when it got dark.
I was up early the next morning, hitting the trail just before first light. Came across the thru hiker and his dog I had seen the day before. He is hoping for snow when they reach the Canyon. Reached the car before 8 AM and headed home. Fun trip. |
