| no partners | | I have not been up to the cave in quite a while. I wanted a nice little workout with a nice view of the sunset. This fit the bill perfectly. Still a little toasty out there for November. Looks like the weather will get nicer soon.
There was an empty parking area when I pulled in. The trail is the same as always. Nice and flat and rocky until you get to the base of the mountain. Then, it turns nice and steep and rocky. A couple of other hikers made it up to the cave as well after I had arrived.
The cave is the same as always. I was hearing way more bats that previous visits and there was a slight guano aroma permeating the cave as well. The clouds looks hopeful for a nice sunset. Mother Nature abided and I was treated to a wonderful sunset. Gotta love these AZ sunsets.
The hike down was dark and uneventful. I have seen rattlers on this hike before, but none today. Not many critters at all, actually. Except of course, the bats that started taking off in small waves at dusk. |
